When was the last time you visted a forest? Hiking along the forest is an environment-friendly activity perfect for nature enthusiasts. This village in Iksan offers a unique stroll along a forest filled with cypress trees!

The village's name was derived from the nearby Pyeonbaek Namu Sup 편백나무 숲 (Cypress Tree Forest) which serves as its main attraction.

Cypress trees emit various chemical substances which are good for the body and simply taking a stroll around the forest has various health benefits. It relives stress and strengthens bowel and cardiopulmonary functions.

When you book an activity, you will have a tree planting activity inside the forest.

You can place a cypress tree seedling in a pot and you also get the chance to take one along with you.

Another bonus is you get to ride this very cool tractor on the way to the village. How cool is that!

Harvesting 'Super Sweet Corn' 🌽

Unbelievable! Did you know that there is a variety of corn that you can eat directly, without having the need to cook it first. I didn't believe it at first as well until I tried it. 


You can literally just pick it off, remove the leaves and eat it on the spot!


They call it Chodang Oksusu 초당옥수수 which translates to Super Sweet Corn. And the word 'Super' in it is not an exaggeration. 


It really is packed with high sugar content, you never would have imagined corn could taste this good! 


If you're intersted to do some corn harvesting experience and get a taste of freshly picked Super Sweet Corn, then you better visit this village located in Iksan during harvest season in summer from July to August.

Suncheon Bay Wetlands, serenity at it's finest

This is my favorite place in South Korea. The whole place is just stunning! During fall and winter season, the reeds also become golden brown which transforms the place. This time we went  during summer so everything was green! The Suncheonman Wetlands is a well-preserved natural coastline rich in biodiversity and acts as a sanctuary for animals especially migratory birds. The entrance facility looks really modern and at the same time, eco-friendly. Iksan Trip Part 2: Apple Vinegar Making Experience at Kosrak (고스락), the 4000-Jar Garden [The King Eternal Monarch Filming Location]

Kosrak (고스락) Kosrak Garden is one of the filming locations of the recent show "The King Eternal Monarch"!  It is a unique garden filled with as many as 4000 Hangari 항아리 (Jars) which are also used for fermentation. The jars blend perfectly with the landscape making a very unique combination perfect for your insta-shots. So many jars in one place! Such a nice way of immersing in Korean Traditional Culture.
