Iksan Trip Part 2: Apple Vinegar Making Experience at Kosrak (고스락), the 4000-Jar Garden [The King Eternal Monarch Filming Location]

Kosrak (고스락)

Kosrak Garden is one of the filming locations of the recent show "The King Eternal Monarch"! 


It is a unique garden filled with as many as 4000 Hangari 항아리 (Jars) which are also used for fermentation.


The jars blend perfectly with the landscape making a very unique combination perfect for your insta-shots.


So many jars in one place! Such a nice way of immersing in Korean Traditional Culture.
It's a great place to take awesome photos and enjoy the well-designed landscape. 

There's also a spot where you can have an overlooking view of the whole area. 

After walking around, there's also a cafe and an experience center where you can do some fermentation activities.


In line with the fermentation theme, they also offer cultural experience activities such as Apple Vinegar making ( No, it's not Apple Cider Vinegar). 

In South Korea, different fruits can be made into sikcho 식초 which translates to vinegar but this is a different kind of Korean traditional vinegar.



Although it can also be used to add flavor to food when cooking, this vinegar is fermented with sugar, mainly used for making healthy beverages by just adding water.The reason behind it's popularity is because it even has more health benefits than your normal fruit juice!


You can take home your finished product as souvenir.

It's worth a visit here as you'll get to strill around the garden and do some fun activities as well.

Suncheon Bay Wetlands, serenity at it's finest

This is my favorite place in South Korea. The whole place is just stunning! During fall and winter season, the reeds also become golden brown which transforms the place. This time we went  during summer so everything was green! The Suncheonman Wetlands is a well-preserved natural coastline rich in biodiversity and acts as a sanctuary for animals especially migratory birds. The entrance facility looks really modern and at the same time, eco-friendly.
