Relieve your stress at the Busan Healing Forest

Forest healing refers to activities that enhance the immunization of the human body by using the various elements in the forest to restore health to the body and mind.

The Busan Healing Forest  located in Gijang is a wonderful place experience forest healing.

Forest+Meditation makes a synergistic effect on promoting one's overall wellness. Programs enjoyable with the forest healing leader include forest play using natural elements, tea drinking, forest bath stretches, viewing the sky through the leaves, shouting while emptying uncomfortable feelings, shooting slingshots, walking the forest on a rainy day wearing a clear umbrella, idle meditation, barefoot walking, and cypress ball hand massage.

During this covid-19 pandemic, the role of activities like these become much more vital in our lives. Busan Healing Forest prepared useful programs that can be enjoyed with the forest healing leader. After two hours of experience, the troubled heart becomes clear and simplified.

We were welcomed with warm tea.

It tastes like green tea and is quite refreshing.

Then we had a little crafting activity (which is also part of the healing experience)

We were supposed to compliment our partner while twisting the band.

For me, it makes sense because aside from the immediate good feeling while making the band,  the person will also remember the good feeling of receiving compliments everytime they look at the compliment band.

Our finished products.

We really liked it!

Now on to the outdoor activity. We will go hiking into the forest. But we need to first do some stretching and warm ups.

The forest is so green and lively. Such a nice trek.

There's also a nearby stream. The sounds of the stream, the birds, the insects, the leaves is very soothing.

The healing leader also introduced us to many plants in the forest which can be used for healing.

Such as this "Sancho namu" 상초 나무 while has an aromatic scent and can also be used to attach on your cheeks for a really cute effect.

There's also some introduction to insects especially butterflies which can be found in the forest. The forest leader said there are a lot of butterflies in the healing forest!

It only takes 40 minutes to take a leisurely round trip of the central trail that starts from the visitors’ center at the entrance. The whole place is simply beautiful! Just walking around is a healing in itself.

We have now arrived at our designated site to do some forest mediation. This "magical" instrument creates a nice soothing resonating sound which was used during forest meditation

And also this bell-like instrument.

We had a really relaxing meditation experience. The forest leader really knows what's going on!

We made a reservation and had a really good time! The program they offer was not just to feel good. You also get to learn a lot of things in the process such as how to meditate, how to utilize the natural healing properties of the plants in the forest as well to remind us to take things slow every once in a while and just close off the busy world we are living and enjoy the peace and serenity of nature which brings healing.

If you want to make a reservation, they offer a two-hour program twice a day at 10:00am and 2:00pm.

This program takes about 2hrs and 30mins.

We had a really great time! We hope that you can go here as well so you can experience the same healing experience we had!

I was always doing hiking before and now I had a new found appreciation for the ability of the forest to restore one's wellness and health.
